Music is where Dan Heister a.k.a. Daniel Carl hangs his hat. Especially when it comes to playing the trombone. (Ah, you see the theme emerging with the hat on the trombone?) Anyway, it is a fact; Daniel loves music and being a part of anything to do with it. That is why he not only plays music, but he teaches, writes and produces it as well. He has a passion for creating music of all types like jazz, blues, and rock as well as orchestral works.
While growing up and living in New Mexico Daniel had unique opportunities to explore many avenues in the musical world. In college he played with some of the biggest names in jazz like Bill Watrous, Slide Hampton, Wynton Marsalis and many others. He has played trombone in over 50 musicals such as "Man of La Mancha", "Chicago" and "Carousel". Daniel also has an extensive list of ensembles and bands he played in like the Santa Fe Symphony and several Big Bands and Latin Jazz Bands. Daniel also sings and plays several other instruments such as piano and guitar. He is also a formally trained and experienced sound engineer and producer.
Daniel is a devoted husband and father and is a devoted Christian. Because of his love for God he gives Him the glory in all he does with his music. Daniel has been a worship leader for 3 churches in New Mexico over the span of more than 20 years. All the while he was writing and honing his craft as a composer and producer.
He now owns and runs his own studio where he teaches and creates music. If you would like to know more about Daniel or Daniel Carl Studio please contact us.
